Steamed Pears + Fixings

INGREDIENTS

1. Boiled Version

  • 2 Asian pears

  • 1Β½ tbsp rock sugar (or to taste)

  • 1 tbsp dried goji berries

  • 6–8 dried Chinese dates (jujubes)

  • 1Β½ cups water

2. Steamed Version

  • 2 Asian pears

  • 1Β½ tbsp rock sugar

  • 1 tbsp dried goji berries depth

INSTRUCTIONS

To Boil:

  1. Core and slice pears.

  2. Add pears, rock sugar, goji berries, and dates to a pot with water.

  3. Bring to a boil, then simmer 15–20 minutes.

  4. Serve warm or chilled.

To Steam:

  1. Cut off pear tops, core gently.

  2. Fill with rock sugar + half the goji berries, replace tops.

  3. Place in bowls, sprinkle remaining goji berries around.

  4. Steam ~40 minutes until soft and fragrant.
