Mango Granita
Mango Granita — perfect for back‑to‑school season when mangos are super ripe and you need refreshing, hydrating ways to use extras.
The season brings heat, humidity, and outward movement, which can leave the body feeling overheated, thirsty, or low‑energy — especially during back‑to‑school transitions.
Mango granita is the perfect seasonal remedy:
Mango nourishes Yin, supports fluids, and gently tonifies Qi
Citrus (lime/lemon) moves Qi and clears mild summer Damp‑heat
Frozen texture cools Heart Fire and refreshes the Shen (spirit)
Light sweetness moistens dryness without heaviness
It’s hydrating, cooling, and a great way to use extra ripe mangos before they turn.
Mango Granita
INGREDIENTS
3 cups ripe mango flesh (about 2–3 mangos)
1-2 limes or lemons juice
1–2 tbsp maple syrup or sugar (optional)
Pinch salt
Thick coconut yogurt (to serve)
INSTRUCTIONS
Blend mango, citrus juice, sweetener, and salt until completely smooth.
Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.
Pour mixture into a shallow dish and freeze for 1 hour.
Scrape with a fork to create crystals, then return to the freezer.
Repeat scraping every 30–45 minutes until fully frozen and fluffy.
Top with tick coconut yogurt.
Serve immediately or store covered in the freezer.
